• 1. Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I walk up and pay in cash?

    Booking must be made in advance for us to take care of the logistics to assure the best experience and food tasting samples on the day. We do not take walk-ups. We accept bookings online, by e-mail. Payment must be done in advance. You must do the payment must be made one day in advance.

  • 2. What happens when I make my online booking?

    When you complete your booking on our website, we will send you an email confirming the availability. All reservations are confirmed via e-mail after payment. You will receive confirmation containing your booking details and the meeting point information, including directions how to arrive by all available means of transport. You will also receive our Ticket.

  • 3. What is Taste of Minho food tour Cancellation Policy?

    A refund of 50% is available for guests who cancel with at least 48 hours advance notice. Unfortunately, within 24 hours of the tour date, all tickets are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. Tours will run rain or shine. The Client may cancel his entire reservation up until 2 days before the date of the Service. Without two days’ notice, the TASTE OF MINHO FOOD TOUR will not reimburse the purchase and keep 100% of the reservation. All cancellation requests should be made by mail to and should include the reservation number, the name of the client, as well as the date. The TASTE OF MINHO FOOD TOUR will process the demand as soon as possible.

  • 4. If a date is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?

    We do not provide a waiting list. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but there is always a chance to add an additional tour, so please email us at and let us know what date you are interested in.

  • 5. Can I bring a child to the Food Tour?

    Children are welcome in our tours. If the child is not participating in food tastings, he/she won’t need a ticket, but if you want him/her to discover the Portuguese cuisine at early age, make sure to buy a ticket. We recommend the tour for those of 7 years of age and up. Please keep in mind that the tour is 3 hours long and because some children have limited attention spans, the tour may not be appropriate for them. Parents should assess the situation individually; please consider that there is a lot of standing, walking, and listening involved in the tour when deciding whether it is appropriate or not for your child. Children up to 6 years old go for free.

  • 6. Can I book a private tour for my family or working colleagues/clients?

    Yes. Private tours are available for groups of / up to 40 people, which will form 4 groups of 10 with one guide each. To inquire about a private tour, please send us an email at We will answer you within 24 hours and make sure to satisfy your will.

  • 7. Are private tours offered in more languages than English?

  • 8. How long does the tour last?

    The duration of our tours is around 3 hours 30 minutes, Once the tour is over you can go back and shop in one of the specialty food shops, or have beverage in one of the many bar/restaurants that you have discovered on the tour. Give yourself some time after the tour to hang out in the neighborhood and shop a bit at some of the great artisans you have discovered!

  • 9. How much walking is involved? Is it a fast-paced tour?

    Tours last around 3 hours and 30 minutes and participants can expect to be standing or walking for 2/4 of the time. We walk at a moderate pace on very flat terrain and will also sit at several locations.

  • 10. Are bathrooms available during the tour?

    Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at select food-tasting locations.

  • 11. How many people do you take on a tour?

    We allow a maximum of 10 people per tour to make sure that the experience remains unique and singular.

  • 12. Can I bring my pet to the tour?

    Unfortunately, your pet can’t join us at Taste of Minho food tour. Due to sanitary rule and regulations of various food establishments we will be visiting, pets of any kind will not be allowed on our tour.

  • 13. Are cameras permitted?

    Cameras are most certainly permitted and photos are absolutely encouraged.

  • 14. Can I shop during the tour?

    Everything you taste in Taste of Minho tour is for sale. We encourage you to have time at the end of the tour to return to your favorite locations and/or stores and make your choices with no pressure.

  • 15. Can you adapt your tour to food allergies or vegetarian diets?

    We cannot provide vegetarian diets. We CANNOT make food substitutions for any other food allergies (such as gluten-free or dairy-free). We are sorry for the inconvenience. Our Food Tours have been designed to highlight the best and most unique aspects of each artisan. Unfortunately, there isn't always a "next best" option that also meets the special diet needs of each of our guests.   • 16. Do I need to purchase a ticket if I’m not going to eat?

    Yes. All guests must purchase a ticket whether they plan to take part in the food tastings or not. Non-paying individuals will not be able to join the tour for any reason. The ticket fees help to cover the costs of all the food samplings and also to pay for your tour guides wages, whom are offering valuable commentary on historical, architectural, cultural and restaurant information during the tour and assisting you during cooking classes.

  • 17. Legal responsibility

    The legal responsibility of Taste of Minho food tour cannot be engaged for the thefts, losses or deterioration of personal belongings that may occur on the streets, markets and/or other places we stop to do some shopping or eat.
